Among the green rolling hills, the Mrežnica River has carved its deep canyon.
Green colour springs even from the depth and supplement the forest. River is calm, barely flowing. Water lilies cover the river banks, dragonflies zipping by, while the European pond turtle rest on the plants. But, water shines on hundred spectacular waterfalls, often divided on several terraces.
People have always embraced Mrežnica, attracted by its energy, building water mills on the edges of the waterfalls, without disrupting the nature. Swimmers and nature lovers who can’t resist the charm of the river are main visitors today.
Mreznica is a river in Gorski Kotar region, west from Zagreb in direction of Adriatic Sea. Croatia has much more to offer than sea and sun only.
