#SHESKIS Obertauern

Concentrated women’s power in the name of the Austrian Cancer Aid and Pink Ribbon – that was the #SHESKIS event in Obertauern.

A day full of emotions in the snow, inspiring encounters, skiing together and doing good at the same time – on March 25th, 2023, the #SHESKIS event took place in Obertauern for the 5th time.

In Austria’s snowiest winter sports resort, 120 enthusiastic female skiers gathered to make a statement and support the Pink Ribbon campaign for the Austrian Cancer Aid. Among them were some of the most exciting personalities from the Austrian sports and cultural scene. The participants were able to improve their skiing technique with valuable tips from Atomic athletes Marlies Raich, Michaela Kirchgasser, Mirjam Puchner, and Jacoba Kriechmayr. These tips could then be put into practice on the latest models from Atomic. About 15cm of new snow provided pure skiing enjoyment.

The first stop was at 10:30 am at Treff 2000. Accompanied by the singing of Austrian singer Monika Ballwein, the #SHESKISFAMILY enjoyed regional delicacies and of course the right drop to go with it. After the strengthening, the participants went back to the slopes, where the sun was now waiting for them. After the perfectly prepared slopes were thoroughly enjoyed, the group gathered for a joint lunch at Kringsalm. First-class delicacies were consumed at the Pink Table and in an exclusive area of the alm, and many inspiring acquaintances were made. In addition, many new networks were created, which will serve as a cornerstone for many exciting projects.

The subsequent fundraising, including a raffle, increased the total donated amount to a proud €31,200.

“Being able to generate such an amount for the Austrian Cancer Aid and Pink Ribbon is incredibly beautiful. I would like to express my thanks again to our partners Atomic, Treff 2000, Kringsalm, Louis Widmer, the Obertauern lift community, BMW, and Sorella Ramonda. Without such strong partners, this unique event would not be possible,” summarizes Mona Maier, director of tourism and initiator of #SHESKIS.
