Saus dl altonn \u2013 Flavours of autumn<\/strong> returns at the end of September, as does the Mountain Pic Nic<\/strong>, which can be purchased at participating huts throughout the season. The summer novelty is called Takeaway dla munt<\/strong> (Mountain Takeaway).<\/span><\/p>\n

Alta Badia (South Tyrolean Dolomites\/Italy)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Alta Badia is becoming increasingly well known as a place where the mountains can be enjoyed in their fullest expression. This includes opportunities for discovering the culinary excellence of this destination.\u00a0<\/strong>The starred chefs of Alta Badia have played a fundamental role in this process, succeeding in motivating the creation of an all round culinary concept, both up in the mountains and down in the valley.<\/p>\n

SAUS DL ALTONN \u2013 FLAVOURS OF AUTUMN<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Wheat, beef and pork, and local cheeses are just some of the products that, together with their producers and five Michelin starred chefs, will be the stars of the food and wine offering dedicated to the start of autumn.<\/p>\n

During the last two weeks of September, five mountain huts in Alta Badia (\u00dctia Pralongi\u00e1, \u00dctia de Bioch, \u00dctia Malga Saraghes, \u00dctia I Tabl\u00e1 and \u00dctia Gardenacia) will be linked to five producers of top-quality local products and five Italian Michelin starred Chefs: Nicola Laera (Restaurant La St\u00fca de Michil at Hotel La Perla), Paolo Donei (Restaurant Malga Panna), Karl Baumgartner (Restaurant Sch\u00f6neck), Fabrizia Meroi (Restaurant Laite) and Alessandro Gilmozzi (Restaurant El Molin). Each mountain hut will present a menu based on the specific product that has been assigned to it specially for the occasion. Every day, it will also be possible to buy certain products and meet the people who make these local treasures, as they\u00a0will be making an appearance at their assigned huts. The producers will be able to explain the qualities and unique characteristics of their products and the Michelin starred Chefs will reveal a few secrets about how to cook with them.<\/p>\n

The mountain huts can be easily reached by walking, cycling or with the cable cars, which are open until October 3.<\/p>\n

During the last two weeks of September, it will also be possible to take part in lots of other activities to get to know Alta Badia\u2019s other excellent products. The activities on offer include a degustation of honey (14th<\/sup>\u00a0September), an outing at sunset at Gran Cir peak (15th<\/sup>\u00a0September), an excursion to discover the local herbs (16th<\/sup>\u00a0September), a sparking wine tasting at the Larcen\u00ebi meadows (17th<\/sup>\u00a0September), the end of Summer festivity \u201cLa Munt de Bo\u00e9 in festa\u201d (19th<\/sup>\u00a0September), the transhumance in the village of Badia (19th<\/sup>\u00a0September), a visit to the Natur L\u00fcch Sossach farm and their BIO beef meat production (20th<\/sup>\u00a0September), an experience at the L\u00fcch Ciores farm with a degustation of goat milk products (23rd<\/sup>\u00a0September), a local beer tasting (24th<\/sup>\u00a0September) and \u201cSonns y Saus de Armentara\u201d, an event dedicated to local specialities held on the Armentara meadows, at the foot of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Natural Park (26th<\/sup>\u00a0September).<\/p>\n

MOUNTAIN PIC NIC<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Among the culinary experiences don\u2019t miss the Mountain Pic Nic which allows visitors to taste the best products of South Tyrol, while comfortably lying in a green pasture at 2000 metres above sea level. Tourists can order a picnic basket with a unique menu at the six mountain huts taking part in the initiative. Each mountain hut offers a different selection based on local specialities and products. Upon collecting your picnic basket, you’ll also be given a blanket – no good picnic is complete without one! – and you can enjoy your picnic in the meadows near the huts. This allows all excursion enthusiasts to choose a safe spot to enjoy lunch.<\/p>\n

The baskets can be purchased in advance by contacting the hut or collected directly, with no prior order, at the participating mountain huts.<\/p>\n

Once you have finished your picnic, you can bring the baskets back to the hut, showing respect to the natural landscape by leaving the meadow as you found it. The baskets will be sanitised before being used again. Prices range from 20 to 28 Euro per person depending on the menu selection.<\/p>\n

NEW 2021: TAKEAWAY DLA MUNT, AN ORIGINAL MOUNTAIN TAKEAWAY<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The current pandemic situation continues to favour outdoor environments where social distancing is possible. The Mountain Takeaway initiative aims to allow guests to enjoy local dishes, either outdoors or in environments chosen by the guests. This culinary offer gives guests the opportunity to order takeaways from participating restaurants, bars and patisseries in the valley, to collect them from the facility and to enjoy the various dishes in pre-arranged picnic areas respecting the meadows and the work done to look after them, or at home. This initiative is also intended to send out a message of sustainability, using strictly biodegradable containers and making customers aware of the need for proper waste disposal.<\/p>\n
