It has a rather rich history, and it has evolved quite a bit in recent years, which makes it an extremely popular tourist location.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The thing with Vietnam is that it has a lot to offer, and this makes it difficult to go through all the locations that are worth your time. It can be explored by taking a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aquaexpeditions.com\/private-charter-cruises\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">private cruise<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> along the Mighty Mekong river that will help one immerse in the rich culture and traditions of Vietnam. On the other hand, those that love backpacking will enjoy diversities along the way from traditional places, off-the-beaten-path adventures, and even buzzing and modern cities in the heart of Vietnam. So, with that in mind, let\u2019s take a look at what cities you should visit if you\u2019re heading out to Vietnam!<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Halong Bay<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Halong Bay<\/strong>, or <strong>Ha Long Bay<\/strong>, is a place that many will say is a true paradise on Earth. It has been deemed a UNESCO World Heritage site, and with so many people visiting it every year, it really needs no introduction. It\u2019s one of those places that are<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldnomads.com\/explore\/southeast-asia\/vietnam\/is-halong-bay-worth-it\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">definitely worth a visit<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_129939\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-129939\" style=\"width: 512px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-129939\" src=\"https:\/\/travel-advisor.eu\/uploads\/2022\/05\/unnamed.jpg\" alt=\"Boats in Halong Bay\" width=\"512\" height=\"288\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-129939\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Copyright: Pexels| CC0 Public Domain<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The bay itself is full of crystal clear water, which is a sight to behold. The limestone karsts that surround you on all sides only add to the relaxing atmosphere, and you\u2019ve got a variety of caves that you can explore. If you\u2019re limited in terms of time, our suggestion would be to head to the <strong>Thien Cung cave<\/strong>, which is also known as the Heaven cave. It does take a bit of effort, but the place is really heaven on earth. You have various color stalactites that drop from the ceilings, making it a stunning place overall.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But even if you don\u2019t have the time (or the ability) to go visit the caves, just going through Halong Bay is an experience everyone should go for if in Vietnam, trust us. Or don\u2019t \u2013 go and see for yourself.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Dalat<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If ever you\u2019ve read about Vietnam, you\u2019ll know that <strong>Dalat<\/strong> is known as the <strong>City of Eternal Spring<\/strong>. Of course, the city itself might not be the biggest, but it\u2019s not just the city \u2013 it\u2019s the beautiful landscapes that surround it. You can start your tour in the city, but make sure you go out as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here\u2019s a suggestion if you have the time \u2013 the <strong>Truc Lam Pagoda<\/strong> is a Japanese Zen-Buddhist temple that\u2019s a stunning sight. It has been influenced by the Vietnamese culture quite a bit, something that\u2019s obvious from the moment you lay your eyes on it.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_129927\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-129927\" style=\"width: 341px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-129927\" src=\"https:\/\/travel-advisor.eu\/uploads\/2022\/05\/unnamed-1.jpg\" alt=\"Dalat\" width=\"341\" height=\"512\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-129927\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Copyright: Pexels| CC0 Public Domain<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And for those of you who prefer nature, you can head to the <strong>Datanla Waterfall<\/strong>. Legend says that in the old times, fairies used to come here to take a bath. The waterfall itself has a roller coaster that will take you along for a ride and show you everything that\u2019s worth seeing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And of course, we must mention that Dalat has another nickname \u2013 the <strong>City of Thousand Flowers<\/strong>. It got this thanks to the variety of flower gardens scattered throughout (and around) the city that you can visit. Here\u2019s a pro tip \u2013 the one on the southern end of the <strong>Xuan Huong Lake<\/strong> is a real beauty.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Ho Chi Minh<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You might\u2019ve come across the name <strong>Saigon,<\/strong> which is what the locals call it, but in any case, this is one of Vietnam\u2019s historically most significant cities. It\u2019s the biggest city in Vietnam and was renamed after the fall of Saigon, getting its new name after the Indochinese Communist Party\u2019s founder.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take a stroll through <strong>Ho Chi Minh<\/strong>, and you\u2019ll find that the city has some incredible remains that remind you of all the city\u2019s been through. A prime example of this is the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.atlasobscura.com\/places\/notredame-cathedral-basilica-of-saigon\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This historical remnant stands tall ever since the French Colonial Period. These are known as the <strong>Cu Chi tunnels<\/strong>, and they were made during the war of Vietnam. Not only were they used as hiding spots during the war, but soldiers used them for both delivery of supplies and communication routes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And we understand if all of this leads you to think that Ho Chi Minh is all about history, but that\u2019s not the case. The city is bustling with various shopping centers that you can visit, and don\u2019t get us started on the restaurants. They give you a glimpse of what the local cuisine is all about, and here\u2019s a spoiler \u2013 it\u2019s going to give your taste buds an unparalleled experience.
