{"id":2545,"date":"2017-01-22T17:12:35","date_gmt":"2017-01-22T16:12:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.travel-advisor.eu\/?p=2545\/"},"modified":"2017-01-22T17:18:22","modified_gmt":"2017-01-22T16:18:22","slug":"sevnica-the-birthplace-of-the-first-lady","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/travel-advisor.eu\/en\/sevnica-the-birthplace-of-the-first-lady\/","title":{"rendered":"Sevnica the birthplace of the First lady"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-family: 'comic sans ms', sans-serif;\"><strong>Little Melania came into this world in 1970, on the banks of the Sava River in the town of Sevnica.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Her journey from the small industrial town near Kr\u0161ko to being the First Lady of the United States<\/strong> is more or less common knowledge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Forty-six years later,<\/strong> <strong>Melania has achieved a true American dream<\/strong>, which even she herself could probably not have imagined. So far she is only the second foreigner to be holding this demanding office. Melania has thus become a role model for millions of girls worldwide. In the meantime, her parents have also moved to the US.<\/p>\n<p><strong>All 5000 inhabitants of Sevnica are expecting Melania<\/strong> to pay them an official visit. The town is small, dominated by a castle perched on top of a hill above the town &#8211; <strong>Lichtenwald.<\/strong> The castle holds several museum exhibitions. First records of it date far back to <strong>1309,<\/strong> and it also survived the peasants&#8217; uprising of 1573, when it was not devastated as some others were.<\/p>\n<p>Today, it is a <strong>venue for concerts and various events.<\/strong> The castle and the town church are interesting landmarks, but <strong>the number of tourists who have literally been coming in droves after Melania&#8217;s husband was elected president is fascinating.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Naturally, the majority of those tourists are actually journalists and TV crews persistently filming the grey concrete 1960s building where <strong>Melania Knauss (Knavs)<\/strong> and her sister <strong>Ines used to live.<\/strong> Their father <strong>Viktor used to be an active communist,<\/strong> but this is obviously no longer a problem.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The locals are quickly changing what\u2019s on offer so now you can find pastry \u00e0 la Melanie,<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>hamburgers \u00e0 la Trump<\/strong>, and the like. The mayor of Sevnica, Sre\u010dko Ocvirk, is overjoyed because of it.<\/p>\n<p>Z<strong>agreb could also somewhat benefit from it<\/strong> because a lot of those tourists land on our airport and spend a few days in the city.
