Formerly the fishermen\u2019s village, this part of Bamberg has been one of the most favorites, tagging it as the Little Venice in Franconian Rome.<\/p>\n<p>A main attraction is <strong>City Hall<\/strong> that lies in the middle of the Regnitz River. \u00a0It was originally placed in <strong>1386<\/strong> but was reconstructed from <strong>1744 up to 1756<\/strong> to widen the services to the public. The impressive location of the hall in the island is amazing. Best foto shooting spot is from the bridges on the opposite side. Legend\u00a0tells that people failed to get a land from the Bishop, where they can build the town hall, so <strong>they put up a human-made island<\/strong> where city hall has somewhere to stand to.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The 11th-century Cathedral<\/strong> is considered as one of Germany\u2019s most important models of architecture from Romanesque to the Gothic period. It exhibits not only the royal couple\u2019s tomb but as well as the Bamberg Horseman, the altar by Veit Stoss, and the papal tomb of Clemens II.<\/p>\n<p>Old City of Bamberg is <a href=\"http:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/list\/624\">UNESCO<\/a> World heritage site.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bamberg\u00a0is a town in Upper Franconia, Germany, on the river Regnitz close to its confluence with the river Main.
