Tourism in Bavaria<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bavaria has a long and rich history. The Free State of Bavaria(Freistatt) plays an important role in business and cultural life of both Germany and Europe.<\/strong> Most of the German guests who visit Croatia are Bavarians. This big state, with almost 13 million inhabitants, has a lot to offer \u2013 from the Alps to the Danube.<\/p>\n

Bavaria is the most popular German state among tourists, and tourism is economically very important. The offer is very rich. You can enjoy the untouched nature in the Alps and national parks on the south, and Munich is a world famous city.<\/p>\n

Tourism in Bavaria<\/strong><\/p>\n

For my trip I chose three beautiful cities, which are important for tourism of this region \u2013 Passau, Regensburg and Bamberg.<\/p>\n

Passau<\/strong> is the city on three rivers. The mouth of the river Danube and rivers Inna and Ilza are the reason why Passau is often called Dreifluesselstadt. The peninsula where the old town is located is stunning. There are restaurants and souvenir shops on every corner. The town is a popular stop for river cruisers, and the tourists stay there until the evening. The evening is the best time of day for exploring the city. In the cathedral there is the largest church organ in Europe and you can hear it at noon every day.<\/p>\n

\"Tourism<\/p>\n

Regensburg<\/strong> is a bigger town with around 150.000 inhabitants. The medieval centre of the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Danube and the old stone bridge on one side, and parks and avenues on the other mark the old city centre. Shops, restaurants and souvenir shops lure the visitors on every corner. One of the most amazing sites is the palace of the Thurn and Taxis family, which is even now one of the most powerful families of Bavaria. The park surrounding the castle is a perfect place for a walk. Countess Gloria is popular on Europe\u2019s social scene.<\/p>\n

Bamberg<\/strong>, a town near the river Main, is possibly the most beautiful town of the three. One of the reasons is the fact that it is one of the few who did not suffer bomb damage. The old city centre is the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Bamberg extends over seven hills, and is thus often called the \u2018Franconian Rome\u2019. Another nickname the town was given is \u2018Little Venice\u2019, because of the colourful houses. Bamberg was a fairly notorious town in the medieval times, because of the series of mass witch trials in the 17th<\/sup> century. Today, it is very popular for the smoked Rauchbier.<\/p>\n
