Manila Hosts the International Tourism Summit Asia, Bringing in a New Era of International Collaboration

From May 6–12, 2025, the first-ever International Tourism Summit Asia Conference & B2B Networking event took place in the bustling Philippine metropolis, Manila.

Through conferences, business networking, and cultural exploration, the event, which was organized in association with TravelShop Turkey and the Istanbul Tourism Association (ISTTA), brought together tourism professionals from Asia, Europe, and the Middle East to explore new collaboration potential.

With over two decades of experience in organizing international tourism fairs and Hosted Buyer programs, TravelShop Turkey — in cooperation with ISTTA — successfully launched this important summit at the heart of Asia. The event featured a dynamic blend of conferences, B2B meetings, and a FAM Trip program, offering delegates an in-depth look at the diverse and rich tourism offerings of the Philippines.

Participants visited major historical and cultural landmarks across Manila, including Intramuros, Manila Cathedral, and Rizal Park, as well as took part in excursions to the pristine island destinations of Boracay and Cebu, renowned for their white-sand beaches and turquoise waters.

The summit also focused on sustainable tourism, featuring educational sessions on eco-tourism, responsible travel, and regional development, making it not only a networking hub but also a platform for knowledge exchange and advocacy.

Murtaza Kalender, President of TravelShop Turkey and ISTTA, expressed great satisfaction with the event’s success, emphasizing the importance of such gatherings in strengthening global ties and promoting cultural exchange. He also hinted at future events planned across Asia to further expand the bridge between eastern and western tourism industries.
