The crystal-clear waters around Antigua offer excellent opportunities for diving and snorkeling. Reefs, shipwrecks, and rich marine life make the underwater world exceptionally interesting to explore. English Harbour is a historic harbor that was once a key base for the British Navy and is now one of the island’s main tourist attractions. Antigua is famous for its Antigua Sailing Week regatta, one of the most renowned in the Caribbean, held in late April and early May. Ang Thong National Marine Park, near Koh Samui, is a beautiful marine park consisting of 42 small islands. Boat excursions provide opportunities for snorkeling, kayaking, and exploring hidden lagoons and beaches. The island features the Big Buddha, a 12-meter statue that dominates the surrounding area, one of the region’s most important Buddhist shrines, along with other temples like Wat Plai Laem.
