Mölltaler Gletscher is one of Austria’s most unique ski resorts – a true kingdom of snow and sunshine nestled in the heart of Carinthia.

Thanks to its glacier located at an altitude of 3,122 meters, the ski season here lasts almost all year round. Perfectly groomed slopes, natural snow, and breathtaking Alpine views make it an ideal destination for all winter sports enthusiasts.

Skiing Above the Clouds

Located near the charming village of Flattach, Mölltaler Gletscher is the only glacier on the southern side of the Austrian Alps in Carinthia – and one of the few ski resorts where you can ski up to 10 months a year.

The highest point of the resort reaches 3,122 meters above sea level, ensuring excellent conditions and natural snow from autumn through late spring.

Access to the slopes is easy thanks to the Mölltaler Gletscher Express, an underground funicular railway stretching over 4.8 kilometers. In just eight minutes, it takes visitors from the valley station to the top, where they transfer to a gondola lift for the final ascent.

Perfect Slopes for All Levels

The ski area offers more than 17 kilometers of perfectly groomed runs, from wide blue slopes for beginners to steep black sections that challenge even the most advanced skiers.

A special highlight is the Panorama Run, offering stunning views of the Hohe Tauern mountain range and a breathtaking alpine lake below.

Beyond alpine skiing, Mölltaler Gletscher is a paradise for freeride, snowboarding, carving, and professional training, attracting international ski teams thanks to its consistent snow and top conditions.

Skiing in the Sun

One of Mölltaler Gletscher’s greatest advantages is that skiing continues long after other resorts have closed.

The slopes remain snow-covered deep into June, while the temperatures are pleasantly mild and springlike. Thanks to its high altitude and state-of-the-art snow maintenance system, the runs are always in excellent condition – perfect for those who want to extend their ski season or start early in October.

On the mountain, the Eissee Restaurant provides panoramic views and a hearty alpine menu, while nearby Almhütten (mountain huts) serve local specialties like dumplings, goulash, warm apple strudel, and mulled wine.
